About the school

The Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, located at North Haven, offers RYA training courses for those looking to get into sailing or improve their skills. We provide programs like Competent Crew and Day Skipper, with instruction taking place in the waters of Gulf St Vincent. It is a great opportunity to learn from experienced sailors at a well established club.

The location

Our base at North Haven provides direct access to Gulf St Vincent, offering a broad expanse of water that is well suited for all levels of sail training. The local conditions allow for practical experience in navigation, boat handling, and seamanship, all within easy reach of Adelaide.

How to get there

To reach the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia at North Haven, international and interstate visitors will fly into Adelaide Airport (ADL). From the airport, North Haven is approximately a 30-40 minute drive by taxi or rental car. Ride hailing services also operate in Adelaide.

The primary sailing season in Gulf St Vincent is during the South Australian spring, summer, and autumn months, generally from October through to April. This period typically offers warmer weather, more reliable sea breezes, and overall pleasant conditions for sailing courses and enjoying the waters off Adelaide.
