The Area

Marina Kornati in Biograd provides an excellent and practical base for learning to sail, with the diverse Kornati archipelago and numerous islands nearby offering genuine navigational challenges and varied sailing experiences. This allows students to apply their learning in real situations, building skills in a beautiful and dynamic part of the Adriatic.

Getting There

If you are travelling from overseas, Zadar Airport (ZAD) is the most convenient arrival point, located just a 30 minute drive from Biograd na Moru. Taxis, ride hailing services, or pre-booked transfers can take you directly to Marina Kornati. For those coming from other parts of Europe or within Croatia, renting a car is also a very practical option, with good road connections.

Best Time to Go

We find that late May through to early July provides a wonderful window for sailing in Biograd. During this time, the winds are generally steady, the Adriatic is warm, and you are ahead of the main summer rush. September is another excellent month, offering reliable weather and often quieter waters, making both periods ideal for focused learning.
