The Area

Our school operates out of the Ala Moana area, providing convenient proximity to Waikiki and the surrounding harbor. Whether you're new to sailing or looking to refine your skills, our location provides an ideal setting for hands-on instruction and practical experience. You’ll learn aboard well-maintained vessels with the scenic backdrop of Hawaii’s iconic shoreline, making your sailing education both enjoyable and immersive.
Getting There
Upon arriving at Honolulu International Airport (Daniel K. Inouye International Airport), you have several convenient options to reach Sail Hawaii located at 1777 Ala Moana Boulevard #224 in Honolulu. The easiest choice is to rent a car from one of the many rental agencies available at the airport; this allows you to enjoy the flexibility of exploring the island at your own pace. Alternatively, ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft operate extensively in Honolulu and can provide a comfortable, direct ride to the school in just about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. From the airport, head west on Nimitz Highway (HI-92) and follow signs toward Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. The school is situated near the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, just a short drive from Waikiki Beach, making it accessible whether you're arriving by rental car or ride-share.
Best Time to Go
The best time to sail in Honolulu is from April to October when the weather tends to be warm and the seas are calm, making for smooth and enjoyable sailing conditions. Summer months offer longer daylight hours, perfect for extended day trips or multi-day adventures around the islands.
