The Area
Largs Marina is a premier sailing hub on the Firth of Clyde, offering excellent facilities and direct access to some of Scotland’s best cruising waters, which are ideal for RYA training. The proximity to islands like Cumbrae, Bute, and Arran provides a diverse and scenic environment for students to learn and practice their sailing skills.
Getting There
To reach Largs Marina, the most convenient international airport is Glasgow Airport (GLA), which is typically a 40-50 minute drive away. Car rentals and taxis are available at the airport. Largs also has a train station with regular services from Glasgow Central, offering another practical way to travel to us.
Best Time to Go
The optimal time for sailing in the Largs area and the wider Firth of Clyde is generally from May to September. During these months, you can expect the most favorable combination of milder weather, longer daylight hours, and more consistent winds for your RYA course and exploring the beautiful coastline.
