The Area
To join us in Hobart, you will fly into Hobart International Airport (HBA). From the airport, Sandy Bay and the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania are approximately a 20-30 minute drive. Taxis, ride hailing services, and airport shuttles are available, as are car rental options if you wish to explore more of Tasmania.
Getting There
The most favorable sailing season in southern Tasmania, including Hobart and the River Derwent, is during the warmer months from December to March. This period generally offers more stable weather patterns, more sunshine, and more reliable winds, though conditions can change quickly, providing excellent learning opportunities. The shoulder months of November and April can also be good but may be cooler.
