The Area
Port Geographe Marina in Busselton is an excellent location for RYA sail training, situated on the shores of the expansive and generally sheltered Geographe Bay. The bay's calm waters are ideal for beginners to build confidence, while the open Indian Ocean is accessible for more advanced training, all with lovely coastal scenery.
Getting There
To reach Port Geographe Marina in Busselton, the primary international airport is Perth Airport (PER), located approximately 2.5 to 3 hours drive to the north. From Perth Airport, renting a car is the most common and convenient way to travel down to Busselton. There are also coach services available from Perth to Busselton.
Best Time to Go
The prime sailing season in Geographe Bay is during the Western Australian summer and shoulder months, typically from November through to April. During this time, you can expect warm, sunny weather and reliable sea breezes, particularly in the afternoons, which create excellent conditions for sailing instruction and enjoying the bay.
