The Area
To reach Viareggio, the nearest international airport is Pisa International Airport (PSA), which is approximately a 25-30 minute drive away. Regular train services also connect Pisa Airport and Pisa Centrale station to Viareggio, offering a convenient alternative. Florence Airport (FLR) is further, about an hour to an hour and a half by car or a combination of shuttle and train.
Getting There
The prime sailing months in Viareggio are typically from May through September. This period offers warm Mediterranean weather, generally moderate winds suitable for learning, and comfortable sea states, allowing for excellent training opportunities along the Versilian coast.
