Located just minutes from Orlando, u-sail-central-florida is easily accessible for travelers arriving via major airports. If you're flying in, the closest major airport is Orlando International Airport (MCO). From the airport, you can rent a car or use ride-hailing services like Uber or Lyft to reach the school. The drive typically takes around 30 to 40 minutes, heading northwest on State Road 436 (Semoran Blvd) then west on Interstate 4 (I-4) toward Sanford. Once in Sanford, take exit 101 for Lake Monroe Drive/US-17, and follow signs to North Palmetto Avenue. The school is located at 531 North Palmetto Avenue, A-Dock, on the shores of Lake Monroe. If you're arriving by train, Amtrak services Orlando station, where you can rent a vehicle or arrange a ride-share for the approximately 30-mile drive to Sanford. Car rentals are available at the airport and train station, making it convenient to travel at your own pace.
The best time to sail in Sanford, Florida, is during the spring and fall months when the weather is warm and the winds are steady, typically from March through May and October through November. Summer can be hot and humid, but early mornings and late afternoons tend to offer more comfortable conditions for sailing.
