The Area

Located on the scenic Monterey Bay in Santa Cruz, our sailing school offers an ideal setting for learning to sail. The calm mornings and steady afternoon breezes provide excellent conditions for beginners to gain confidence, while our experienced instructors can introduce students to a variety of sailing techniques and navigation skills. With access to a diverse fleet of vessels and proximity to open water, students have ample opportunity to practice and refine their sailing abilities in a safe and supportive environment.

Getting There

From the major San Jose International Airport (SJC), you can easily reach Pacific Yachting & Sailing by rental car, taxi, or ride-hailing services like Uber or Lyft, which typically take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Santa Cruz, follow the signs to Mariner Park Way; the school is located at 790 Mariner Park Way. If you're coming from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the drive is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. For a more comfortable journey, consider renting a car at the airport, which provides flexibility to explore the area at your own pace. Alternatively, train services like Amtrak run from the Bay Area to Santa Cruz, where local taxi or rideshare services can take you directly to the school.
