To reach Delta Sailing School, start by flying into Sacramento International Airport (SMF), a major hub with extensive domestic connections. From the airport, you can rent a car or arrange a ride-hailing service such as Uber or Lyft for approximately a 45-minute drive south to Isleton. Once you arrive in Isleton, head east on West Brannan Island Road; the school is located at Brannan's Island Time Marina. If you prefer to travel by train, Amtrak services the nearby Sacramento station, where you can rent a car or arrange for a ride-hailing service to the marina. Driving is the most convenient option, offering flexibility to enjoy the scenic surroundings of the California Delta.
The best time to sail in the California Delta is from late spring through early fall, when the weather tends to be warm and the winds are steady enough for enjoyable sailing. Summer months, especially July and August, offer the most consistent conditions for both beginners and experienced sailors.
