As students progress, we venture out to the central bay around Treasure Island, gaining experience in diverse conditions such as tides, currents, and varying wind strengths. Getting There
After arriving at Oakland International Airport, you have several convenient options to reach Afterguard Sailing Academy. You can rent a car and drive approximately 20 minutes east on I-880 South, following signs toward Oakland and the Embarcadero. Alternatively, ride-hailing services like Uber or Lyft are readily available from the airport and can take you directly to our location at 1853 Embarcadero, Oakland, CA 94606. Once you arrive, look for our school near the Oakland Estuary, with easy access to the waterfront.
