At Asia Pacific Yachting, we offer RYA sailing courses right here in Hong Kong, suitable for those looking to get started with Competent Crew or advance to Day Skipper. We aim to provide a welcoming environment for you to learn practical sailing skills. Exploring Hong Kong's waters by sail is a unique experience, and we're here to help you embark on that journey.
The location
Hong Kong's diverse coastline and numerous islands offer a surprisingly varied and interesting environment for learning to sail. The waters around areas like Aberdeen provide both sheltered spaces for initial training and more open conditions to build experience.
How to get there
Most international visitors will arrive at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). From the airport, to reach our central locations or specific marina bases like Aberdeen, you have several efficient options. The Airport Express train is a fast way to get to Central, from where taxis or other local transport can be used. Ride hailing services and taxis are also readily available directly from the airport.
Best time to go
The autumn and winter months, generally from late October through to March, tend to offer the most pleasant sailing conditions in Hong Kong. During this period, you'll often find clearer skies, more consistent winds, and comfortable temperatures, making it a good time for instruction and enjoying the local waters.
