Founded in 2018 by Frank Zhang and Shelly Wang, both of whom studied in the United States, the school utilizes a fleet of boats such as Wasa 37, Azuree 33, and Bavaria 41, catering to a range of sailing adventures and training.

The Area

The island's four distinct seasons and consistent winds provide ideal conditions for developing sailing skills year-round. Surrounded by China's extensive coastline and key supply points for maritime activity, Dongji Island is an accessible and practical location for aspiring sailors. The area’s calm waters and reliable wind patterns make it an excellent place to gain confidence and experience on the water.

Getting There

To reach Eascape Sailing School, start by booking a flight to Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport, the nearest major airport serving the region. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or use ride-hailing services to reach Zhoushan port, which is about a 30-minute drive. From Zhoushan port, take a ferry to Dongji Island; ferries run regularly and provide a scenic route across the sea. Upon arrival on Dongji Island, local transportation options like taxis or scooters can easily take you to the school’s location on Yha Dongji. If you're arriving from mainland China via high-speed train, travel to Zhoushan’s mainland station and then proceed with a taxi to the port for the ferry. It's advisable to coordinate your ferry schedules in advance to ensure a smooth transfer to Dongji Island.

Best Time to Go

The best time to sail around Dongji Island is during spring and early summer, from April to June, when the weather is mild and the winds are steady. Late summer into early autumn, from August to October, also offers favorable sailing conditions with warm temperatures and consistent breezes.
