The location
Newport Marina provides access to the extensive and largely protected waters of Moreton Bay, which is an ideal training ground for RYA sailing courses. The bay offers a variety of conditions and navigational points of interest, allowing students to build a solid foundation in sailing and seamanship.
How to get there
To reach Newport Marina from overseas or interstate, you will fly into Brisbane Airport (BNE). From Brisbane Airport, Newport is approximately a 30-40 minute drive by car, taxi, or ride hailing service. Car rentals are readily available at the airport.
Best time to go
The sailing conditions in Moreton Bay are generally favorable for a large part of the year, with the period from April to November often considered optimal. During these months, you can typically expect more stable wind patterns, pleasant temperatures, and less rainfall, creating good conditions for sailing instruction and exploring the bay.
