The location
Antibes, with its famous Port Vauban, is a fantastic location for RYA sail training, offering a blend of historic charm and excellent maritime facilities on the Côte d'Azur. The waters provide direct access to the Mediterranean, with generally good conditions for learning and the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera to explore.
How to get there
The closest major international airport to Antibes is Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE), which is very conveniently located only about 20-25 minutes away by car or taxi. There are also regular bus services from the airport to Antibes, and a train station in Antibes connects to Nice and other coastal towns, making it easily accessible.
Best time to go
The prime sailing season on the French Riviera, including Antibes, generally runs from May to October. This period offers warm weather, plenty of sunshine, and typically moderate sea breezes, especially in the afternoons, which are ideal for sailing instruction and enjoying the beautiful coastline. The shoulder months of May, June, and September can be particularly pleasant.
