Andaman Yachting is a long-standing, owner-operated RYA training school based on the water in Phuket, Thailand. Run by a UK national with years of sailing experience across Asia, the school offers a personal, hands-on approach to training—whether you're learning the basics or working toward advanced qualifications. They’ve been operating since 2006 as a fully licensed Thai company, so everything is above board and well organized. Most courses take place as five-day liveaboard adventures, either on a shared basis or as a private charter. You can also opt for their “own boat” training, where an instructor (and optional Thai chef/crew) joins you on your vessel or a charter. It’s a laid-back, immersive way to learn, combining serious instruction with time to enjoy one of the world’s most beautiful sailing regions.

Phang Nga Bay and the surrounding Andaman Sea offer some of the most spectacular sailing in the world. With towering limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and hundreds of islands to explore, the scenery is both dramatic and peaceful. The area is well protected, with calm waters and consistent breezes—ideal for learning to sail or just enjoying time on the water. Based in Phuket, Andaman Yachting has direct access to this incredible sailing region. You’ll cruise past remote beaches, coral reefs, and traditional fishing villages, all while soaking up Thailand’s warm weather and rich coastal culture.
Getting There
To reach Andaman Yachting, fly into Phuket International Airport (HKT), which offers numerous international connections. From the airport, it's approximately a 15-minute drive to Yacht Haven Marina, located on Phuket's northeast coast. This marina serves as the base for Andaman Yachting and provides direct access to Phang Nga Bay and the Andaman Sea.
Best Time to Go
The best time to sail in the Andaman Sea is from November to April, when the weather is dry, the seas are calm, and daily temperatures range from 28–32°C (82–90°F). Winds are steady, and conditions are ideal for both training and cruising. From May to October, the monsoon season brings higher humidity, occasional storms, and rougher seas.
