About the school
Eurosail welcomes you to learn sailing with us in Mangalia, Romania, where we offer RYA accredited courses. Whether you're new to boating and considering a Competent Crew course, or looking to gain your Day Skipper qualification, we provide instruction on the Black Sea. It's a great opportunity to develop your skills in a unique sailing area.
The location
Mangalia's tourist port on the Black Sea coast provides a good setting for learning to sail, offering access to open water where students can experience a range of conditions. The area allows for practical training in a region with its own distinct maritime character.
How to get there
To reach Mangalia, international travellers would typically fly into Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport (CND) near Constanța, which is the closest major airport serving the Romanian Black Sea coast, about 70km north of Mangalia. From there, a pre-booked transfer, taxi, or car rental would be the most practical options for the journey south to Portul Turistic Mangalia. Another option could be flying to Bucharest's Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) and then taking a train or renting a car for the longer drive (approx 250-300km) to Mangalia.
Best time to go
The prime sailing season on the Romanian Black Sea coast, including Mangalia, is during the summer months, from June to August. This period offers the warmest weather, calmer seas, and generally more stable wind conditions, which are favorable for sailing instruction and enjoying time on the water.
